I came across this article a few days ago and I wanted to post it up on this blog for anyone interested. It’s about a cardiologist who willingly endorses using apps on your cell phone to track your health, rather than being prescribed medications.
A couple questions it raised for me was whether or not it could solve the whole issue of people being constantly medicated, and over-prescription? Also, in the Duffin article we spoke about how there was a paradigm shift that happened where all of a sudden, the doctor knew more about our health than we did. They told us what was wrong instead of vice versa. Could this new technology put the individual in more control?
